Pittsburgh
On the Pubnetwork™
This site originated at pubnetwork.com
and the barstool of Ed Vidunas
These places serve good
beer and that is the only criteria I use to list them. Yes there are so many
more entries to add and that is why my work will never be finished. If a pub is
not here do not assume I don’t like it. You can e-mail me at

The Pittsburgh Pubs are good for drinkers and the South Side Pubs list every place it my home neighborhood. I have included a Brewpub page to make it easy for those who only want to see them. To visit the Three Rivers Alliance of Serious Home Brewers, go to the TRASH site. To link to other good sites visit my Bar Buddies.
Tavern Times
Every tavern in the Pittsburgh site is open at least from 11:30 AM to midnight. They may be open longer but should they be? Not every pub is open seven days a week. Some are closed on Sunday by choice. Every one listed has a Sunday license though. In Pennsylvania a Sunday license is required in order to serve beer on Election Day. To get one you must show the state that you sell a lot of food. If you sell too much beer then you can't open on Sunday. WELCOME TO PENNSYLVANIA.
Taken' it with you
Taverns can sell beer to go. If you are from England that means take away. You can only buy the equivalent of 192 ounces in a bar. That's two six packs of 16 ouncers. Buying in the bars is more costly but you can buy a few cans if you want. To buy more you must go to a distributor. Here you must buy a case and you can not mix them like you can in real states. To buy wines and spirits you buy them from the State at a State Store. Their motto is we don't have what you want. WELCOME TO PENNSYLVANIA.
Can't leave 'em home
If you go out with the wife and kids you will find all of these places family friendly. Well, maybe not after 9 when the entertainment kicks in, but shouldn't the little milk stout drinkers be in bed? Remember in Pennsylvania children are not permitted at the bar.
Cash Problem?
I have the nearest ATM machine listed with each bar. Many gas stations now have ATM machines but I can never find what bank they are tied to. I would not use one if I did not know who operated the machine. Banks own all the ones in this site.
Parking in Pittsburgh
In the City of Pittsburgh the Parking Authority controls many lots and street parking. Their goal is to tag. Authority owned lots are well marked and patrolled 24 hours a day. The street meters should have a sticker to show they eat until 6 PM. Most private lots do not have meters. WELCOME TO PITTSBURGH.
