The Parkway East, I-376, westbound has an exit (Oakland) that will take you up Bates.  The eastbound lanes do not have an exit at this spot.  The Oakland exit from the east will but you on Forbes Ave.  If you come outbound on the Blvd. of the Allies, be aware that you can not turn left onto Bates.

 Synopsis
This is a place that has atmosphere.  You can have a fun time here as it has a younger crowd but not real rowdy.

 Bar Hours
Open seven days from 11:00 to past midnight.

 Happy Hour
For the summer it goes from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.  Winter hours from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.  Don't ask me to explain this or when they change.  During happy hour all drafts go for half off.

 Holiday Closing
The major ones to be sure and maybe the minor ones.

 Beer, Wines & Spirits
Yes they have it all but not that many taps.  They always have some interesting Micro’s on tap and a nice bottle selection.

 Tequila
It is not well known to beer drinkers but this group of bars (Kaya and Mad Mex) have a world class selection of this south of the border drink. 

 Food
Mexican, of course.  The servings are of good size and everything is delicious.

 Food Hours
The kitchen is open every day from 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM.

 Entertainment
The place is too small for a triangle player.

 Cigar Smoking
I would not.

 Cash Problem?
National City bank has an ATM on Forbes just off Oakland Ave.

 Parking
For those unfamiliar with Oakland it is parking hell.  Find a place and walk if you must but find a place.  This is the most intimate of the two Mad Mex bars.
