Synopsis

This is a neo-classic of American bars.  One would expect a real bar to have good food and beer and plenty of both.  Fat Heads fits the bill on all counts.  They say they are the "Home of the Headwich" and they certainly are.  The size of this has been known to take the breath away from women.  They are also home to Single Malts and fine Bourbons. 

Bar Hours

Open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM.
They may close early if they have no patrons, but not before midnight.
As of April 19, 1998 they are now open on Sunday.  Hours are 11 AM to 11 PM.

Happy Hour
They have a happy hour from 5 to 7 PM, Monday to Friday.  A selected beer is reduced in price.

 Holiday Closing
They are closed most holidays.

 Beer, Wines & Spirits
Twenty beers are on draft by the pint.  They include imports, microbrews and domestic.  As for the micro's, they always seem to have the better ones on, and they all move well.  Fat Heads has an amble selection of Single Malt Whisky and other mixed drinks as well.  They do not have tiny umbrellas here but some of the colors I have seen in the mixed drinks do look interesting.

 Cask Conditioned Ale is now being served on Tuesday and will run until empty.

Food
I do not have enough space on this server to say what I want to about the food.  Order a Headwich.  I dare you.  The Subs can sink that hunger pain in you tummy for days to come.  They have a different and fresh soup everyday and (my favorite) French Onion everyday.  You will not see chips in a bag.  They make their own.  Another item they make, and very well I might add, are the many varieties of ribs.  I have seen many a man brag how he can take the heat but I always see them leaving in tears.

 Food Hours
Monday through Thursday 11:00 AM to midnight.
Friday & Saturday 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM.

 Entertainment
No live entertainment unless you get me talking.

 Cigar Smoking
This is permitted at the bar.  How else can you enjoy your fine scotch?  No cigars or clove cigarettes in the dining area please. 

Cash Problem?
The nearest ATM machine is the Fayette Bank on Carson St. between S. 17^th and S. 18^th Streets (on the other side of the street that Fat Heads in on).  It is about one block away.  The PNC Bank just across the street has an ATM inside but is not accessible after banking hours.  PNC bank has a 24 hour ATM inside the CoGo's at South 10^th and Carson.

 Parking
The Parking Authority has a parking lot across the street and another one block behind the bar at S. 18 and Sidney.  Please feed the meters since they tag 24 hours a day.  Street meters can be enforced up to 9:00PM.
